Terms & Conditions
howto.support ¡ Last updated October 1, 2026
These Terms govern use of HandsOn Coach, including guide pages, creator tools, live camera or voice coaching, accounts, purchases, and all related services on howto.support and its subdomains. Please read the safety and professional-advice sections carefully.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using HandsOn Coach, creating or claiming a guide, starting a coaching session, purchasing an unlock or pass, or continuing to use the service after an update, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the âTermsâ). If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the service for another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.
2. What HandsOn Coach provides
HandsOn Coach publishes step-by-step guides and offers optional interactive guidance that may use a camera, microphone, speech, images, and artificial intelligence to observe progress and speak suggested next steps. Guides may be created by HandsOn or by third-party creators. The service is designed for ordinary household, hobby, cooking, cleaning, craft, automotive, and similar projects. It is not a substitute for a licensed professional, instructor, or emergency responder.
3. AI guidance is not professional advice
Coaching, answers, classifications, images, voice output, recommendations, and automatically generated guide content are produced by software and AI models and can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, unsafe, or inappropriate. The coach may misidentify an object, misread a label, misunderstand speech, skip a step, or suggest something that does not fit your tools, materials, environment, skill level, or local code.
HandsOn Coach is not a doctor, nurse, electrician, plumber, mechanic, engineer, contractor, lawyer, financial adviser, or other licensed professional. Nothing on the service is medical, legal, financial, electrical, structural, automotive, or professional advice. No professional relationship is created. Verify important steps against the manufacturerâs instructions, applicable codes, a qualified professional, or emergency services.
4. Physical safety and assumption of risk
Hands-on projects can cause injury, fire, electrical shock, gas leaks, chemical exposure, poisoning, property damage, or death. You are responsible for evaluating the project, using appropriate protective equipment, following local codes and permits, safely handling tools and chemicals, keeping children and pets away, and stopping immediately if conditions become unsafe.
Do not use the service for emergencies, medical care, live electrical work you are not qualified to perform, gas or pressurized systems, asbestos, lead, mould remediation, structural engineering, or any task that legally requires a licensed professional. If you are unsure, stop and contact a qualified professional. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
5. Eligibility, accounts and access
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. Some features may require an account, email verification, a payment, or a claim link. You agree to provide accurate information, protect your credentials and links, and promptly report unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and for devices you use.
6. Prices, payments and coaching time
Reading guides is generally free. Live coaching may be metered and paid. Current prices, included time, duration, and limits are shown at checkout or on the relevant pricing page and may change for future purchases. Payments are one-time unless a page clearly states otherwise; passes do not automatically renew unless expressly disclosed.
Only active coaching time is intended to be counted. Reading, pausing, idle time, technical failures, and time not spent in an active session may be treated differently as described in the interface. You are responsible for internet, camera, microphone, device, and carrier charges.
7. Refunds and chargebacks
Refund requests are reviewed individually through the contact page. Because payment processors charge non-refundable fees, an approved refund may be reduced by the processorâs fee or may be issued as a credit where permitted. We may decline refunds for completed sessions, abuse, already-consumed time, chargeback fraud, or purchases made in violation of these Terms. Nothing in this section limits a non-waivable statutory right.
If you dispute a charge, contact us first so we can investigate. Abusive chargebacks may result in suspension and recovery of amounts owed.
8. Creator guides and royalties
Creators may submit or create guides. You keep ownership of your original submission, but you grant HandsOn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, modify for formatting, promote, distribute, and use the guide and related media to operate and improve the service. You represent that you have the rights, permissions, and releases needed to publish everything you submit.
Royalty percentages, payout thresholds, payment timing, processor fees, and eligibility requirements are stated in the creator interface or FAQ and may change for future sales. You are responsible for the accuracy of your payout information, taxes, and compliance with law. HandsOn may withhold or reverse a payout for fraud, chargebacks, infringement, or a violation of these Terms.
9. Your submissions and licence to HandsOn
You retain ownership of text, photos, videos, feedback, corrections, and other content you submit. By submitting it, you grant HandsOn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence to store, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, publish, distribute, and use it in connection with the service and its promotion. You also permit other users to view and use published guide content in the ordinary way the service allows.
Do not submit confidential information, private data about another person, infringing media, misleading claims, or content you lack permission to share. We may edit, refuse, hide, or remove content for safety, legal, quality, or policy reasons.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for illegal, dangerous, fraudulent, harassing, hateful, or exploitative activity;
- submit instructions for weapons, explosives, harmful chemicals, illegal drugs, self-harm, or other prohibited content;
- upload malware or attempt to bypass authentication, payment, rate limits, safety controls, or access restrictions;
- scrape, clone, resell, or bulk-download the service or its guide library except as permitted by robots.txt or a written agreement;
- impersonate another person, misrepresent a qualification, manipulate reviews or royalties, or infringe intellectual property;
- record, upload, or transmit another personâs image, voice, or personal information without lawful permission; or
- interfere with the service, other users, creators, or third-party providers.
11. Camera, microphone and privacy
Live coaching may require camera and microphone access. You control whether to grant those permissions. Do not point the camera at people, documents, screens, or private spaces you do not want processed. Depending on the feature, audio, images, transcripts, prompts, and limited technical data may be sent to AI and infrastructure providers to generate coaching output.
We may collect account details, purchase records, analytics, support messages, and operational logs. Creator and user content may be stored to operate the service. Do not submit sensitive information such as medical records, financial account numbers, government identifiers, or passwords. Third-party providers have their own terms and privacy practices.
12. Intellectual property
The HandsOn Coach name, branding, site design, software, compilations, and original content are owned by HandsOn Coach or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. You may use the public service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, republish, sell, license, train a competing model on, or commercially exploit a substantial portion of the service without written permission. Third-party names, logos, video references, and trademarks belong to their owners.
13. Third-party content and services
Guides may reference third-party videos, websites, products, tools, or brands. Those references are for identification and education and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement. HandsOn does not control third-party products, instructions, websites, payment processors, cloud providers, or AI models and is not responsible for their content, availability, safety, or privacy practices.
14. Copyright and removal requests
If you believe content on the service infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us through the contact page with your details, the work at issue, the exact URL, a description of the alleged infringement, a good-faith statement, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act, and your signature. We may remove or restrict content while reviewing a complaint.
15. Moderation and changes to the service
We may review, edit, hide, or remove guides or other content; add warnings; limit features; change prices for future purchases; or suspend the service in whole or in part. We do not guarantee that any guide, creator page, subdomain, video, or feature will remain available or unchanged.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED âAS IS,â âAS AVAILABLE,â AND âWITH ALL FAULTS.â TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ACCURACY, SAFETY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY GUIDE OR AI OUTPUT WILL BE CORRECT, COMPLETE, SAFE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR SITUATION.
17. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HANDSON COACH AND ITS OWNER, CREATORS, LICENSORS, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE FREE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). FOR A PAID SERVICE, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THAT SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply.
18. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HandsOn Coach and its owner, creators, licensors, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, and expenses (including reasonable attorneysâ fees) arising from your use of the service, your submissions or guides, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or another personâs rights.
19. Dispute resolution and governing law
Before filing a claim, contact us through the contact page and give us at least thirty (30) days to attempt an informal resolution. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Otherwise, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to venue and personal jurisdiction there, unless applicable law requires otherwise. To the extent permitted by law, claims must be brought individually and not as part of a class, collective, or representative action, and each party waives trial by jury. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises, unless the law requires a longer period. These Terms are governed by Connecticut law and applicable U.S. federal law.
20. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created legal or safety risk, abused payments or refunds, infringed rights, or harmed the service or another person. You may stop using the service at any time. Sections on ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, payments, and disputes survive termination.
21. Electronic notices and general terms
You consent to receive notices electronically through the service or at the contact information associated with your account. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them with the service or a reorganized business. Headings are for convenience only.
22. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Questions, refund requests, legal notices, and removal requests should be sent through the contact page.
Additional AI, content and compliance terms
- AI output is not unique. Different users may receive the same or similar output. Your rights in your own content do not give you rights in another user's output or third-party material.
- Review before relying. Independently verify steps, measurements, materials, warnings, names, dates, and professional conclusions before relying on or sharing output.
- Your inputs. You are responsible for submitted content and represent that you have the rights, permissions, and lawful basis needed for us and our providers to process it.
- Feedback. Suggestions, corrections, ratings, and feedback may be used to operate and improve the service without restriction or compensation, subject to a separate written confidentiality agreement.
- Third-party integrations. If you connect a third-party service, you authorize the exchange of information needed for that integration, and the third party's terms apply.
- Trade controls. Do not use the service in violation of sanctions, export-control, anti-money-laundering, or other trade laws, or for a prohibited person or territory.
- Appeals. If access is suspended and you believe it was an error, contact support for review. We are not required to restore access.
- Material changes and consumer rights. Where law requires or a change is materially adverse, we will provide advance notice or obtain consent. These Terms do not waive non-waivable consumer or privacy rights.
- Repeat infringement. We may remove allegedly infringing material and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe intellectual-property rights.
